Great advice as is the 3m security film on all windows, don't forget the little corner window on the front doors. Another trick is to get a seat lock. You turn the driver's seat around so that it's facing the back and padlock the base of it into position that way even if they get in they can't drive the van because of the position the seat is locked into.

murphy wins. Single pivot with positive latch is bomber. as a mechanical engineer, you typically want to choose the most robust solution unless the client has specified something else. If I were to upgrade, perhaps do a slam latch, or get cute with making the Murphy wall functional for daytime. Linear systems suck unless you overdesign which means $$$ and space to house components. A parallel four bar would be my suggestion if the client wanted a bed to hug the ceiling during the day, a solution used in motor homes from days gone by.

Im sorry but having a seating area this big and a toilet in the middle of the van when used should be a crime tho youd probably move it to the shower area when company is over but i still hate it when van owners dont make it a private area if they plan on intertaning others

I love that water filter placement idea. It’s always kind of grossed me out to drink water that sits in vans & comes out of pipes, especially if I get a used one. That would make me more comfortable drinking the water too 😅
